California Farm is situated in the beautiful Cotswolds and is surrounded by
absolutely stunning countryside. Our family run farmhouse Bed & Breakfast
accommodation is located one mile from the historic village of Charlton Kings.
Our traditional Costwold stone built farmhouse commands stunning,
panoramic views over the beautiful Cotswold countryside as far as the eye
can see and offers complete privacy and a distinct sense of “getting away
from it all”. We are fortunate to be completely secluded, yet within easy reach
of all amenities and activities.
Formerly known as Hill Farm, then part of a larger country estate, California Farm is named for the bright California poppies which
grow around the farm. For 350 years these beautiful poppies have graced our land each spring with a riot of colour to mark the
end of the winter season.
Fully renovated to an exceptionally high standard, the farmhouse has a real feeling of a family home. In restoring this once
dilapidated house, we have been able to retain many original features (beams, stone walls and fireplaces), with modern
decoration and furnishings in a traditional farmhouse style.
A lovely welcoming hallway leads through to a large guest lounge with deep comfortable sofas and a magnificent fireplace. The
dining area is elegant without being austere and overlooks the garden and surrounding countryside. We have five bedrooms, two
double and two twin rooms all with full, ensuite bathroom and a separate single
room with a shared bathroom. The rooms are all attractive - each with their
own individual style and are simply but comfortably furnished.
There is a large, lawned garden with beautiful trees and shrubs, outside dining area and a pond. To the rear of the
property are our stables. The long private drive leads to an ample parking area at the front of the property.
There is a lovely restaurant called the Reservoir Inn within a 15 minute country walk run by celebrity chef, Martin
Blunos. We are just off the Cotswold Way (about 100 metres off the path) and we are near to the Dowdeswell
Reservoir, Cheltenhams nature reserve. Many of our guests visit us as part of their walk along Britain’s national trail.
You will be warmly welcomed at California Farm with tea and home-made cakes on arrival and we will do everything
we can to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. Please feel free to call Lynne to discuss any of your

We offer an anti-allergenic environment so whilst dogs are not permitted in the house, we do offer luxury
accommodation for your four-legged friend (the stables!). California Farm is non-smoking throughout.
